Our Hope is anchored in God’s Word: What has God said in His Word about the Jewish people and the land of Israel? What promises and covenants has God made to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Every Christian will be blessed to not only know these scriptures but recognize their fulfillment in this time we live, and to use them as the basis of our prayer for Israel.
In the previous studies we saw in the scriptures God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). God promised them the land of Caanan and even described the boundaries of the land He promised. In our last study we saw the importance God placed on valuing our spiritual birthright. In this study we will look at Exodus and see that God calls Israel His son and firstborn. We will also read that Israel is the redeemed of God, and He again sets the boundaries of the land He promises to Israel.
Exodus 4:21-22 “Israel is My son, My firstborn”.
And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your power; but I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Israel is My son, My firstborn.”
Exodus 15:13, 17-18 God redeemed Israel and will bring them to His mountain where He will dwell.
Vs 13:
In Your faithfulness You have led the people whom You have redeemed;
In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.
Vs. 17-18:
17 You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance,
The place, Lord, which You have made as Your dwelling,
The sanctuary, Lord, which Your hands have established.
18 The Lord shall reign forever and ever.”
Exodus 23:31 God fixes Israel’s boundary.
I will set your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates River; for I will hand over the inhabitants of the land to you, and you will drive them out from you.
Exodus 34:24 God will drive out nations before Israel.
For I will drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God.
