Our Purpose and Activities

AMI-the Jerusalem Center for Studies of the Scriptures and the People of Israel, was created in 1962. The late Founder and President, Shlomo Hizak (1941-2018), was a native of Jerusalem who dedicated his life to building bridges between Jews and Christians. The AMI Center was created to deeply study, clarify, and encourage this truly historic process.

Since its inception, the Center has stood for the centrality of the Holy Scriptures. The strongest common thread, the steel link that binds all of AMI’s programs and people, is the Bible.

Through the years a primary purpose of the Center has been to host thousands of visitors as they come to see and experience where the scriptures took place and where many scriptures today are being fulfilled. We encourage every believer to come and have a life changing visit while getting a deeper understanding of their spiritual roots and witnessing the miracle of the scriptures unfold.

Today the AMI Center provides a vital source of Biblical truths and values to a lost world. Together we can be a “light set on a hill” by providing the following:

    • Study of scriptures: a source of shared Biblical values
    • Tours of Israel the land of the Bible
    • Our new website
    • Articles and videos
    • Teachings, Books, and study courses
    • Speaking in churches throughout the world
    • Support and blessing to the people of Israel
    • Prayer: Isaiah 62:6

AMI understands this setting and makes the most of it. It salutes Jerusalem’s promised site as a “House of Prayer for All Peoples” and labors to bring this about.
